Searchlight Pictures in association with Film4 and TSG Entertainment presents Poor creatures!, a film by Yorgos Lanthimos produced by Element Pictures. The film will have its world premiere in competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on Friday, September 1st and hit Italian cinemas on January 25th: here’s the new Italian trailer and backstage featurette with Emma Stone talking about her Bella character.
Director Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone tell the incredible story and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella strives to learn. Hungry for the worldly things she misses, Bella runs alongside Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a seasoned and depraved lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across continents. Free from the prejudices of her time, Bella is increasingly determined to defend equality and emancipation.
