For the same reason, the pope has canceled Saturday appointments but is still celebrating Angelus prayers on Sunday.
Francisco, 87, uses a wheelchair and has been affected by a number of health problems in recent years, including problems with his knees, hips and colon. He also underwent hernia surgery in June.
The pope underwent a partial lung ablation as a young man and had to cancel a trip to Dubai in December due to bronchitis.
