Tuesday 6 June 2023 Available Now “Popular”, new song by The Weeknd ft. Playboy Carti and Madonna which is part of the soundtrack of “The Idol”, an HBO television series (available on Sky in Italy) and taken from the album “THE IDOL VOL.1 (MUSIC FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES)”, released on June 30th.
“Popular“, which comes after “Double Fantasy ft. Future”, released on April 21 as the first single from the soundtrack and peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, has already debuted at No. 10 on Spotify’s global chart. It is currently a Top 10 Spotify HITS playlist in the US to date and is currently featured in the 10 Spotify HITS playlists in several countries including the UK, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Denmark and New Zealand.
The much-discussed series Idol was co-created by Sam Levinson (Euphoria, HBO), Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Reza Fahim and premiered May 22 at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Weeknd” by Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp, the first episode was available worldwide on June 4th.
In the meantime, The Weeknd is ready to return to tour and also come to Italy with two unmissable shows in Milan at Ippodromo La Maura on Wednesday 26th July (all sold out) and Thursday 27th July.

Earlier this year, Guinness World Records named The Weeknd the most popular artist in the world based on Spotify streams.
