Preventive measures to avoid possible outbreaks of avian influenza

In the event of a possible outbreak of avian influenza in humans, the Ministry of Health will be required to issue preventive measures and adhere to guidelines issued by the World Health Organization (WHO).

This opinion is based on a unanimous point made by Representative Mayra Lucila Valdés González, who cited as justification the fact that the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) initiated an epidemiological alert at the beginning of the year because of the increasing number of outbreaks detected.
