The actress reenacts an evening spent with her daughter at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, where Austin Butler’s Elvis victory celebration was underway.
Priscilla Presley remembers her last moments with her late daughter Lisa Marie. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the 78-year-old woman admitted that she understands that something went wrong in the days leading up to the tragic and sudden death of the singer.
The last moments of Lisa Marie’s life were spent in January at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, where Austin Butler’s Golden Globe victory celebration for his role as Elvis in the music legend’s film of the same name took place.
“We just arrived, we had to go down all these stairs,” commented the actress, Elvis’ ex-wife. “I tripped a little because I was wearing high heels and she started laughing a lot,” Priscilla recalls. “I started laughing, but we never had a drink. And she’s like, “Oh my God, Mom, you probably shouldn’t drink tonight!”
Mother and daughter had just calmed down when suddenly Lisa Maria complained of severe stomach cramps. The two left the place immediately, and since then, Lisa’s condition began to deteriorate, until the tragic epilogue.
Warned by Danny Keogh, Lisa Marie’s ex-husband, Priscilla immediately rushed to the hospital, but when she arrived her daughter was “already gone”.
“I still can’t believe it,” Priscilla said. “I don’t wish that on any mother.”
Lisa Marie suffered a cardiac arrest and died at the age of 54 on January 12 at a Los Angeles hospital. Six months later, it turned out that the cause of death was an obstruction of the small intestine.
