Producer Owen Winkler says Michael B. Jordan will direct ‘Creed 4’

Fourth ‘Tenet’ movie in development, Michael B. Jordan set to direct upcoming film, franchise producer Owen Winkler reveals.

Jordan made his directorial debut with “Creed 3,” and he also starred as heavyweight boxing champion Adonis Creed in the spin-off film series “Rocky.” The third film premiered in theaters in March this year, with a box office of $58 million in its first weekend, setting a box office record for a boxing series.

Jordan first played Adonis in 2015’s Creed and later appeared in the 2018 sequel and 2023 trilogy. Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as Rocky Balboa from the first two Creed films, becoming the mentor to Adonis, his former rival Apollo Creed (Carl Way) Seth)’s son. “Creed 3” is the first film in the long-running series without Stallone.

Back in March, type Jordan and Amazon are reportedly in talks to expand the Creed boxing universe into film and television universes.

While details about the projects being discussed remain scarce, sources say the two sides are discussing the possibility of capitalizing on the success of MGM’s film franchise on Prime Video following Amazon’s acquisition of MGM.

Deadline first reported the news of Creed 4, posting a video footage Winkler announced the upcoming film on X/Twitter.

“We’re planning on doing Creed 4 right now — it’s in production — and we think we have a really good story, a really good plot,” Winkler said, adding that the plan was delayed “because strike, like other people” but “maybe a year from now we’ll be in pre-production.”
