KOBIETA Z… (WOMAN) | Competition Venice 80
Polish-Swedish film presented at the competition in Venice 80 Kobieta Z… Małgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert, starring Bohumila Bayor, Mateusz Wieclawek, Małgorzata Gajewska-Krzysztofik, Joanna Kulig. Written by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert, the film spans 45 years of Anela Vesoli’s life and, in particular, her journey in search of freedom as a trans woman against the backdrop of Poland’s transformation from communism to capitalism.
Behind the camera worked on the creation of the film “Kobeta Z …”: Michal Englert – cameraman, Yaroslav Kaminski – editing, Marek Zaveruha – set design, Anna Englert – costumes, Himek – music.
LEGAL SEASON (OFF-SEASON) | Competition Venice 80
The French film is presented at the competition in Venice 80. Horse Season Stéphane Brize starring Alba Rohrwacher, Sharif Andura, Guillaume Canet and Lucette Bedin. The film, written by Stéphane Brizet and Marie Drucker, tells the story of a man and woman meeting fifteen years after they parted ways after a good time in love. Behind the camera on the creation of the film “Or-Season” worked: Antoine Eberle as cameraman, Anne Klotz as editor, Mathieu Menou as production designer, Caroline Spit as costume designer, Vincent Delerme as music, Emmanuelle Villard as sound engineer.
MEMORY | Competition Venice 80
Mexican film presented at the competition in Venice 80. Memory Directed and written by Michelle Franco, starring Jessica Chastain, Peter Sarsgaard, Merritt Wever, Jessica Harper, Brooke Timber, Elsie Fisher, Josh Charles. The film tells the story of a social worker whose simple and organized life between his daughter, work and meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous is turned upside down after an unexpected meeting that opens the door to the past for both. Behind the camera, they worked on the creation of the film “Memory”: Yves Cape – on photography, Oscar Figueroa Jara and Michel Franco – on editing, Claudio Ramirez Castelli – on set design, Gabriela Fernandez – on costumes, Javier Umpierrez – on sound.
ENZO GIANACCI I WILL COME ALSO | Venice 80 Out of Competition – Nonfiction
Italian documentary film submitted in competition out of competition – non-fiction. Enzo Jannacci, I’ll come too Directed and written by Giorgio Verdelli. The documentary, based on a vast repertoire of testimonials from friends and colleagues, presents an unprecedented portrait of an artist who has been able to move between songwriting and cabaret, rock and roll and jazz, theater and film. The composition also includes: Paolo Giannacci, Francesco Guccini, Roberto Vecchioni, Nino Frassica, Paolo Conte, Paolo Rossi, Diego Abatantuono, Vasco Rossi, Claudio Bisio, Massimo Boldi, Jay-Ax, Francesco Gabbani. Behind the camera on the creation of the film worked: Giuseppe Talotta on photography and Vitaliano Murdocco on editing.
