October 8, 2023 – 18:53

The province’s Ministry of Health is developing different strategies to provide staff from different public and private organizations with promotional and prevention tools.

Within this framework, the Single Reference Center (CUR) organized a training course on “HIV, sexually transmitted infections and hepatitis: prevention, biosecurity, treatment, sexuality and gender from a legal perspective” at the facilities of the trainees’ schools.

The meeting was aimed at police personnel discharging duties in health-related institutions. In this regard, Alejandro Santillán Iturres, Provincial Director of the CUR, explains, “Through these meetings we seek to raise awareness of this issue and update content, always starting from the perspective of rights work from a different perspective.”

Regarding the content, Santillan Itures noted that “in cases of abuse or anyone’s exposure to HIV, it is important to understand post-exposure prophylaxis options.”
