ASTOLFO

by Gianni Di Gregorio (Italy 2022, 97′)

Astolfo (Gianni Di Gregorio), a pensioner who no longer expected anything from life, is evicted from his apartment in Rome and takes refuge in the old family home, a ruin in a small town in central Italy. Here he meets Stefania (Stefania Sandrelli) and falls in love with her. It will be the beginning of a new life, more troubled but also more beautiful, more real, the only one worth living.

A light-hearted tale, wonderfully interpreted, between epic references and lyrical digressions.

THE STRANGE

by Roberto Andò (Italy 2022, 103′)

1920. The return to Sicily of Luigi Pirandello (Toni Servillo) and the meeting with two amateur actors, Nofrio (Valentino Picone) and Bastiano (Salvo Ficarra), who are gravediggers by trade. The Maestro is in a creative crisis, and secretly observing the rehearsals of the amateur company of Nofrio and Bastiano draws inspiration for one of his most important works, Six characters in search of an author. Pirandello will collect ideas for the debut of his new creation, to which Nofrio and Bastiano will be invited.

A gift of gratitude to theatrical creation in all its forms.
