Rebranding Great American Living Channel to Reflect Focus on Faith-Based Programming

EXCLUSIVE: Great American Media is making changes to its Great American Living cable channel.

The linear channel, acquired by GAC Media in 2021, will be renamed Great American Faith & Living. The decision follows Great American Media’s recent merger with Sony-owned Pure Flix and represents the company’s latest move to expand its presence in the linear space.

Great American Media, led by President and CEO Bill Abbott, also owns Great American Family.

“Given the overwhelmingly positive subscriber response to Great American Pure Flix and the continued growth of Great American Family, now is the right time to focus our attention on our second linear channel,” Abbott said. “The Great American Faith and Life fills a void in the market, and we are confident that viewers will enjoy a variety of content that delivers the highest quality of faith-based programming in the genre.”

Prior to the rebrand, Great American Living expanded its distribution to include Altice, Frndly TV and Philo.

“We believe the faith category is big enough to have a channel dedicated entirely to that genre,” Abbott said. “We are committed to listening to our viewers and strive to create quality content about faith and family that inspires and uplifts.”

Great American Living originally launched in 2014 as Ride TV, an equestrian and horse-focused channel designed to reach America’s “heartland.” After GAC acquired the channel in 2021, it was rebranded as Great American Living, a home for unscripted programming focused on the American South. Some of his shows currently include “Going to RV”, “Growing Up an Alligator”, “Just South Kimberley”And Southern fried everything.
