Region of Sicily co-finances 19 film projects, here are some

The Sicilian Region co-finances the production of 19 new film and audiovisual projects through the Department of Tourism., Sports and Entertainment and the Film Commission of Sicily. In fact, evaluations of proposals submitted by last May in the window set by the public notice of 2023-2024 have been completed.

The contribution to production houses completes an investment plan of more than 6.6 million euros dedicated to the development of the audiovisual sector in Sicily, financed entirely from the regional budget.
12 productions have been accepted for co-financing, including films for cinema and television and television series, 5 documentaries and 2 short films, the implementation of which will promote and enhance the image of the territory, strengthen and improve the skills of local businesses and stimulate the growth in Sicily of professionals in the operator sector. Productions are required to involve local technical and creative workers and “reinvest” at least 150% of the contribution received on the island.

“Thanks to this position,” says Elvira Amata, regional adviser for tourism, sports and entertainment, “we are following a strategy for the development of the film industry in Sicily, which, by co-financing national and international audiovisual productions, promotes tourism in the direction of our cultural and architectural heritage, while being able to time to offer opportunities for development and work for the benefit of the territory of the region”.

  • Leopard (Indiana Production), Netflix series with Deva Cassel, daughter of Monica Belucci, Vincent Cassel and Benedetta Porcaroli
  • Holy Sky (Tramp Limited), Ficarra and Picone’s new film
  • Makari 3 (Palomar), a Rai series based on the novels by Gaetano Savatteri.
  • One Summer Day (Film Factory)
  • Soul Shadows (Moonlight Pictures)
  • Jastmari (indigo movie)
  • The Corsaro Brothers (Camfilm) with Beppe Fiorello
  • Memory from Mexico City (Apartment), new work by Luca Guadagnino
  • Ugly (Quality Movie)
  • It Happens in the Best Families (Italian International Film), a new work by comedian Alessandro Siani.
  • Eternal Dreamer (Goldenart Production)
  • Sold Out (Eliseo Entertainment) Luca Barbareschi
