Vaccines are the preventive measures that bring the greatest benefit to mankind, and diseases that were previously prevalent and caused a large number of deaths are now eradicated all over the world.
Vaccines bring us closer to a healthier, more prosperous world.
The Office of the Mayor of Palmyra, through the Palmyra Health Secretariat, is working hard to keep more and more citizens protected by the vaccine.
Through them, everyone vaccinated is directly protected, but other populations are also indirectly protected. The more people who keep their vaccination schedules up to date, the lower the risk of severe disease for the most vulnerable.
Since the invention of vaccines, millions of lives around the world have been saved and many diseases have been eradicated. Therefore, we invite you to protect yourself from vaccine-preventable diseases.
The most common and serious vaccine-preventable diseases addressed by the World Health Organization (WHO) are: Diphtheria, Haemophilus influenzae type b infection, Hepatitis B, Measles, Meningitis, Mumps, Pertussis, Polio, Rubella, tetanus, tuberculosis, and jaundice fever.
The people of Palmyra are vaccinated every week at different vaccination points in the city. Remember, vaccinations are free.
