Pinar del Río, Cuba – The current recovery efforts in western Cuba from the impact of Hurricane Idalia are focused on restoring power services and immediate attention to the population, authorities in Pinar del Río commented.
In the country’s westernmost province of Pinar del Río, power service is being restored to more than 169,000 customers with the support of line crews from areas far from the hurricane’s impact, according to television reports.
Pinar del Río executives assured that, in addition to repairing other sections of the line, the work aimed at restoring the high voltage between the provincial capital and the municipalities of Consolacion do Sul and La Palma in the shortest possible time line.
