In this third installment, the Guardians of the Galaxy look a little different. After acquiring the Knowledge Station from the Collector, we find that they are determined to repair the massive damage done by Thanos and are determined to make the Knowledge Here a safe haven not only for themselves, but for all displaced refugees throughout the universe. But soon after, their lives are turned upside down by echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past: Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must assemble his team on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life. A mission whose failure could lead to the death of the Guardians themselves.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 – Overview

James Gunn before getting his hands on the DC Movies Cinematic Universe with partner Peter Safran, after relaunching The Suicide Squad and creating a TV series. peacekeepers with John Cena and then relaunching the iconic cinematic Superman, he wanted to wrap up his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy with a third volume that explores the horrifying past mentioned by Rocket (Bradley Cooper) in the trilogy’s first movie. a traumatic past as a lab guinea pig of repetitive suffering, terror and pain.

As Guardians of the Galaxy 3 approaches its grand finale, Gunn pulls the strings of the narrative arc of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) who, after dying, has returned from an alternate universe where she never met Peter (Chris Pratt), who in the meantime has given himself over to alcohol and yearns for a love that he continues to pursue, although deep down he realizes that this magic cannot be repeated.

In this third chapter, Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) debuts and is inserted into the narrative arc of a new villain, the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), who, along with Sovereign Empress Aisha (Elizabeth Debicki), created this super-being. , but with the characteristics of a child, to capture Rocket and return it to its creator. The High Evolutionary is a eugenicist, sociopath, and mentally unstable scientist with Shakespearean characteristics. This hybrid creature villain, who places himself at the top of the MCU’s ideal ranking of the most brutal, seeks to forcibly improve all living beings to create a “special race.”

How in Thor: Love and Thunder Disney wanted to introduce an element reminiscent of their reference goal, the film’s final scenes actually make this marketing ploy very clear, which we’ve already seen in unsuspecting times in Iron Man 3. But if in the case of Taika Waititi’s “Thor” this “element” was an integral part of the plot, at the risk of being too aggressive, in Gunn’s film it appears only at the end of the plot and in the final episode, in which shamelessly Disney – as an epilogue.

With Rocket in danger, the dysfunctional Guardians come together again, put aside their differences, and reunite with the new Gamora, now a full member of the Ravagers, to bring their friend home. And during the rescue mission, Nebula (Karen Gillan) reveals an increasingly human and emotional part, Drax (Dave Bautista) continues to squabble with Praying Mantis (Pom Klementieff), who we now know is Peter’s half-sister and the protective and massive Groot (Vin Diesel) after a turbulent “youthful” period seems to have finally found a balance.

All together for one final mission that maintains all the characteristics that made this franchise a success, humor, beautiful music, problematic characters that anyone can recognize and/or empathize with, and of course, lots of botanical raw materials that we know specialty of James Gunn.
