The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, September 25, announced the officials for the 2023 World Cup matches in India, which will be played from October 5 to November 19.
Richard Illingworth and Marais Erasmus will officiate the high-voltage Indo-Pakistan match to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14. Richard Kettleborough will be the television referee and Andrew Pycroft will be the match referee. .
Both teams will play in the ODI World Cup for the first time since 2019 when India beat Pakistan by 89 runs on DLS. Surprisingly, Erasmus officiated the game alongside Bruce Oxenford.
Moreover, Erasmus was among the on-field umpires during the Indo-Pak T20 World Cup 2022. The veteran came under criticism for his umpiring after he did not give a ball following a statement by former India captain Virat Kohli.
The neighboring countries played seven games in the ODI World Cup and India won all of them.
Meanwhile, Chris Gaffany and Richard Kettleborough will officiate India’s first game against Australia. Chris Brown will be the TV referee and Richie Richardson will be the match referee.

October 11: India vs Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi
October 14: India vs Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad
October 19: India vs Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune
22 of October: India vs New Zealand at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala
29th of October: India vs England at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow
November 2: India vs Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
November 5: India vs South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata
November 12: India vs Netherlands at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore
