“I’m ready to lock him up,” Brooks said. “He was shooting the ball well and playing well, so I just tired him out and got him into the fourth quarter early.”

This is not the first time Brooks has “poked the bear” on LeBron James. The two had an intersection last season. It reached new heights during the Lakers’ Western Conference first-round series against Brooks’ old team, the Memphis Grizzlies. After James had some great offensive performances, Brooks called the Lakers star “old.”
“I don’t care – he’s old. You know what I mean?” Brooks said of James. “I’m waiting for that. I’m expecting him to do that in Game 4, Game 5. When I get my fourth foul, he wants to say something. He should have said that earlier. But I’m going to poke Bear.”
Brooks is averaging 16.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in six games so far in Houston. On the other hand, James averaged 25.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. The next chapter in this “rivalry” between Brooks and James will be written after the Rockets beat the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, and they’ll stay home to hand the Lakers a one-point loss to the Miami Heat tomorrow night.
