Ron Perlman wants to return to the role of the red demon

The first two films directed by Guillermo Del Toro never had a sequel, and in 2019 there was only a Neil Marshall reboot starring David Harbour.

Hellboy – one of the most important cartoon characters: it is a mystical and fascinating figure that first saw the light of day in 1993, in Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, under the label Legend of Dark horse comics. Ranked 25th among the 100 greatest heroes in comic book history, he made several big screen appearances. Initially, this anti-hero appeared in two films directed by Guillermo Del Toro (released respectively in 2004 and then in 2008). However, unfortunately, despite the fact that the critics captured the spirit of the project, the public botched both feature films to the point that the third chapter was never filmed, despite the main actor, Ron Perlman (Beauty and the Beast, Sons of Anarchy) was ready to return as a demon.

Hellboy recently returned with a completely different reboot from the del Toro films

Although 2019 was just a reboot Hellboy with a completely different director, Neil Marshall (Doomsday – Judgment Day, Centurion) AND David Harbor (Stranger Things Black Widow) to embody the anti-hero, here in a recent interview with the Geek House Show, Pearlman himself explained that he wants to see a third movie, even if it’s an almost impossible possibility overall.

“If we had to make a third film in a trilogy, I would love to do it, yes. It was supposed to be three films, so I would go back and do it if we could finish the trilogy. But those are the only circumstances.”

We remind you that the first Hellboy was, in particular, produced Columbia Pictures, Revolution Studios, Lawrence Gordon/Lloyd Levin Productions with distribution Sony Pictures Entertainment and a cast also consisting of Selma Blair in part Elizabeth “Liz” Sherman, Doug Jones in the role Abraham “Abe” Sapien, Rupert Evans who pretends to be John Myers, John Hurt which he interprets Trevor “Broom” Bruttenholm, Karel Rodin in particular Grigory Rasputin and much more.
