What is the new Ryan Coogler/Michael B. Jordan movie?
After working with Marvel for several years, Coogler appears to have decided to adopt their safety protocols in new scripts he sources from the studio and elsewhere.
Interested parties had to go to Coogler’s office on behalf of WME to read the script, which was kept as secretive as possible. However, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the new, untitled project is a genre piece with period elements.
Other sources indicate that vampires may appear in the film. But we’ll have to wait and see if this is misdirection or if it’s a true element of the new story.
The script is Coogler’s first spec work since Fruitvale Station and is produced by his company Proximity Media. Coogler will next meet with the companies that inspired the script to lay out his vision.
Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan: A History
Writer/director/producer Coogler and actor Jordan have a long history of working together. They broke out with 2013’s Fruitvale Station, which was a huge success at the Sundance Film Festival and subsequently crossed into mainstream appreciation.

Since the new film only exists in script form and is still contacting buyers, a release date has yet to be set.
