Ryan Coogler’s ‘Movies’ with Michael B. Jordan to be released on Imax in March 2025

Ryan Coogler’s untitled “event movie” starring frequent collaborator Michael B. Jordan has been slated for a spring 2025 release.

The project will begin screening on Imax on March 7, 2025. Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian will produce alongside Coogler, while Jordan is the only cast member announced so far. Ludwig Goransson, who won Oscars for his scores for Coogler’s “Black Panther” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” will compose the film’s music.

The project will be Coogler’s fifth feature film, all starring Jordan, and recalls the filmmaker’s critically acclaimed 2013 debut, Fruitvale Station. Jordan then starred in Warner Bros.’ “Rocky” spin-off “Tenet,” released in 2015, which also spawned two sequels. Jordan made his directorial debut last year with “Creed III.”

Jordan later starred as critically acclaimed Marvel villain Eric Killmonger in Black Panther in 2018; although the character died in that film, Jordan starred in the 2022 sequel Black Panther: Forever A surprise cameo in Wakanda.

Coogler’s film adds to the 2025 film lineup, joining a March lineup that included Paramount actioner “Novocain,” Disney’s “Snow White” remake and Warner Bros. Gangster movie “Alto Chevalier” starring Robert De Niro. Warner will also release movies such as Bong Joon-ho’s “Mickey 17” and James Gunn’s “Superman” in theaters next year.
