Ryan Tedder calls Lindgren a “German prodigy.” Now they have signed a partnership agreement – Lindgren is extending his agreement with Sony Music Publishing.

Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has extended its long-standing agreement with Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Michel “Lindgren” Skultz, setting the stage for a new partnership with OneRepublic hitmaker and lead singer Ryan Tedder.

Lindgren and Tedder collaborate frequently and worked together on BLACKPINK’s chart-topping single. Girls, which fell on August 25th. Lindgren’s portfolio also includes JIHYO shares. Kill me well released on August 18, as well as upcoming projects with TikTok influencer Bella Poarch.

“I have been working with Lin since the beginning of the pandemic. He amazed me from the very first session with his speed and musicality. I look at him as an all-rounder for any production, any genre, and he’s also very crafty, with great lyrics in every session. Lin is a German prodigy,” Tedder said.

Lindgren’s musical journey began at the Popakademie music college in Mannheim, Germany. During the heyday of EDM, he entered the European music industry, and in 2016 he made a significant move to Los Angeles, continuing his journey into American and Korean pop music.

This journey led him to collaborate with a number of songwriters, including Melanie Fontana, Mozella, Ruth-Anne, Caroline Eileen, Sebastian Colet, Hook’n’Sling, Take A Daytrip, Gino Barletta, Leland, J-Hart, Vrabel , Michael Matosic and A.J. Mitchell.

Lindgren is now best known for his work on a number of BTS songs, as well as his global success co-writing a Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 single. Hon ft. Sia, and also got into the Top 10 boy with love ft. Halsey.

He also co-wrote and co-produced TWICE. I CAN’T STOP ME And CRY FOR ME and Dua Lipa Good in bed included on her Grammy-winning album Future nostalgia.

Lindgren’s track record also includes charting with artists such as John Legend, J-Hope, TXT, TWICE, Illenium and Cheat Codes. He has also developed collaborations with notable industry figures including Ryan Tedder, Melanie Fontana, Tommy Brown, UPSAHL, Alex Bilo, Madison Love and more.

Reflecting on his journey, Lindgren expressed his admiration for Tedder, remembering how he was in high school, reproducing beats from hits such as Apologize in his attic studio to now collaborate with Tedder himself.

“Ryan is the first songwriter I was a fan of. I remember being in high school and learning about people writing songs for artists because of Ryan’s involvement in creating hits at the time,” Lindgen said.

Lindgen added: “The fact that a kid in Germany can read a dude’s name on a CD cover in his home studio in the attic while carefully recreating the drums from Apologize and just 13 years later, I met this dude on Zoom, wrote and produced so many songs together, which eventually led to a publishing relationship… it’s just mind-boggling to me. Music has power.”
