Sean Lowry attended the Ryder Cup post-party with European teammate Rory McCrory and basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Lowry helped Europe win back the Ryder Cup the first time it was asked, as Luke Donald’s side beat their American rivals 16.5-11.5 at Marco Simeone Arena in October. As expected, the Europeans celebrated late into the night after their overwhelming victory in Rome.

The after-party seemed to continue into the week after the European victory, with Lowry, McIlroy and captain Donald holding a party stateside after returning home to Jupiter.

In addition to the European trio, a special guest in NBA superstar Jordan also made an appearance, enjoying a glass or two of wine at McIlroy’s home. Speaking to the Irish Independent , Lowry revealed: “Myself, Rory, Luke and Jordan were sitting around talking about the Ryder Cup (laughs)… It wasn’t the celebration I imagined.”

Chicago Bulls stalwart Jordan is of course best known for his basketball career, but the American was also a huge fan of golf. Jordan is not only an avid player, but has competed in several Ryder Cups over the years, and this time, despite his allegiance to the United States, he attended the European debriefing.

Teammate McIlroy also spoke of the post-match celebrations, with the four-time major champion – who has the most points at the 2023 Ryder Cup – admitting he needed a full week to recover. Speaking at the US Grand Prix last month, McIlroy told Sky Sports: “When we get back to the US a week later we’re also keeping the party going.
