Sabrina Impacciatore reveals several details of her private life. She does it in an interview at Corriere della Sera: from the nose complex to the success achieved in the States thanks to the series The White Lotus 2, passing through Depardieu – who had a crush on her – and his ‘new life’ in Los Angeles.

In the interview with Valerio Cappelli, the Roman actress retraces some episodes of her childhood: from her first performance at the age of 8, to her debut in a theater in Trastevere while still a teenager. Up to at the meeting with Gianni Boncompagniwhich took place on the occasion of an audition to which she had accompanied a friend. To him and to Gabriele Muccino, he underlines, he owes everything. And then the nose complex:
My hump popped when I was 12 and I never stopped crying until I was 18 when I had a nightmare one night. They took off my bandages after surgery and I screamed: “Who are you?” I no longer recognized myself.
From that moment he began to make fun of his own defects: the nose, but also the height. So much so that her mother told her that Bridget Jones had invented her.
It’s not Rai and cinema
Sabrina Impacciatore also remembers the audition with Carmelo Bene, who was looking for a partner for Don Quixote. She got over him, he told her she was the only one who could stand next to a genius, but she would have to give up her life. She refused: the father had had two heart attacks that year, the family had financial problems. And here Gianni Boncompagni offered her a position as editorial secretary at Non è la Rai. But she in that role she was wasted: thus Sabrina’s Mail was born where she, in front of the camera, answered the letters of the viewers (which she actually wrote herself).
His film debut, he says, split him into three films. His first take is for Il Compagno by Citto Maselli. Then the role in Unfair Competition by Ettore Scola, together with Sergio Castellitto and Gérard Depardieu. And finally The Last Kiss by Gabriele Muccino. Without forgetting her performance for the film Don’t Move which had impressed everyone, but in the end Penelope Cruz was chosen, from that day she renamed ‘Penelope Puz’.
Speaking of the French actor Depardieu, Sabrina Impacciatore reveals that he had a crush on her, not reciprocated. But that she would behave differently today:
I felt like a steak in front of a rottweiler. I was in awe, today I would like to be eaten by him.
Life in Los Angeles
After the huge success achieved with The White Lotus 2the HBO TV series (aired in Italy in 2022 on Sky Atlantic), Sabrina Impacciatore has been living ‘her dream’ in Los Angeles for 4 months. A place, he says, where he met wonderful people.
