Salmonellosis prevention and control training will be conducted for supervisory personnel of the Ministry of Education today

The Department of Public Health will hold a training day on prevention and awareness of typhoid and paratyphoid, both diseases caused by salmonella.

The event will take place today, Thursday 31st, from 9:00 to 12:00 at the Teaching and Cultural Center at Calle Miter 23, Salta. It applies to directors at the primary, primary and secondary levels of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology.

The day is part of the Health Combination objective to coordinate the actions of educational institutions to promote health and prevent salmonellosis.

They will be responsible for the professional thesis of the General Directorate for the Coordination of Epidemiology.

About Salmonella

It is a group of bacteria that enter the body through contaminated food. Most infected people develop diarrhoea, fever, abdominal cramps and vomiting. Salmonellosis is often confused with gastroenteritis, or intestinal infection.

The Department of Public Health recommends taking precautions when handling food because the bacteria can enter the body through ingestion of contaminated water or food such as beef and poultry, eggs, milk or mayonnaise. In addition, fish and shellfish can also spread them.

Some fresh fruits and vegetables may become contaminated by washing with non-potable water. Contamination can also occur in the kitchen if raw meat, beef, or poultry juices come into contact with other undercooked foods, such as salads.
