Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, photographer Brian Randall, has died at the age of 57. His family confirmed that he died after being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) three years ago. In a statement, Randall’s family said they are “immeasurably grateful to the tireless doctors who have dealt with this illness and the wonderful nurses who have become our roommates, often sacrificing their families to be with us.” Sandra Bullock’s sister praised the actress for how “wonderful” she took care of her husband in his final years. “ALS is a brutal disease, but there is some comfort in the fact that my amazing sister and the team of nurses she put together helped her take care of it at home,” Gezin Bullock-Prado wrote on Instagram. “I am convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his bait into the wild salmon rivers,” she added. Randall’s death was first announced in a statement released by his family to People. The family said the photographer “decided from the outset to keep his ALS trip under wraps,” adding, “Those of us who cared for him did everything we could to honor his request.” “We are currently asking for privacy due to our grief and finding a way to say goodbye to Brian is now impossible for us.”
