Ara Michelle Gellar said Ed Sheeran is “the most talented singer-songwriter of his time” in a post where she opened up about her friendship with the pop star.
The 46-year-old actress, known for her starring role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, took to Instagram to gush over the 32-year-old Bad Habits singer.
The day before, Gellar posted a photo explaining that she took her daughter to Sheeran’s concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for her 14th birthday.
In a follow-up post on Monday, Gellar wrote that Sheeran was the “definition of a friend” in a lengthy caption next to a photo of Sheeran hugging the actress.
The post read: “So this is my thank you post to @teddysphotos.
“First of all, in my opinion (and I don’t think this is unpopular) he is the most talented singer-songwriter of his time.
“Subtract is so much more than just an album: although I have experienced my fair share of heartbreak and loss in my life, this album not only reminds us that we are not alone, but also gives us hope (my personal favorite is the lack of strings).
“I got to watch him perform this personal album on Friday night and I was blown away (check my stories for excessive performance spam).
“So first I want to thank him for that. (And be sure to make a video of him taking off the microphone and jumping into the audience to sing).
“Now for something you may not know about him. He’s a true friend, he’s hilarious, he always knows how to have a good time while being the hardest worker, he’s an incredible (and devoted) husband and father, and I’ve never met someone so kind to his fans. . (He literally gave life to my daughter and her friends on her birthday).
“I’m so lucky to know you, Ed. You inspire your friends and fans. (And as you can see from this photo, he always makes me laugh.) And thanks to @marksurridge for this photo.”
