The popular radio show and podcast “Selected Shorts” will bring together three stars of film, stage and television with Logan for a live performance on Saturday, November 4th at the Ellen Eccles Theater in downtown Logan. They are (from left) Kimberly Guerrero, Richard Mazur and Kirsten Vangsness.

LOGAN – Three talented performers will combine the magic of short fiction and the art of live storytelling when the Cache Valley Arts Center presents Select shorts on Saturday, November 4th.

Featured Shorts CacheARTS and Utah Public Radio are jointly sponsoring the 2023-2024 national touring season at the Ellen Eccles Theater in downtown Logan.

This presentation will be a live version of the popular radio show and podcast that can be heard on 130 stations across the United States, including UPR here in Logan.

Target Featured Shorts Through broadcast and live performances, great actors introduce audiences to the magic of fiction, one story at a time.

Thanks to readings from Kimberly Guerrero, Richard Mazur, and Kristen Vangsness on November 4, Featured Shorts will present a quartet of funny, touching and captivating stories celebrating the wonder and beauty of the natural world.

After a 45-year career on stage, film and television, actor Richard Mazur is well known to American audiences.

He starred in more than 60 feature films, including Business, Risky Business, My Girl And Driving license. Mazur’s television career included sitcoms. Hot Baltimore, one day at a time And Rhoda as well as later episodes The Good Wife, The Equalizer And Kaleidoscope. His Broadway credits include: Lucky, Democracy And Locker room.

Kimberly Guerrero is a contemporary Native American storyteller working in film, television and theatre.

Her recent television work has included Reservation dogs on Hulu, Rutherford Falls on Peacock and English on Amazon Prime. Ms. Guerrero also appeared opposite Julianne Moore in the Gloria Steinem biopic. Glorias.

Her stage credits include the role of Joanna in the award-winning play. August: Osage County and appearing in Manahatta at the Public Theater of New York and Queen of fried breads at Native Voices in Los Angeles.

Ms. Guerrero is also an Associate Professor and Artistic Director at the University of California, Riverside.

Apart from her acting career, Kristen Vangsness is also active in the LGBT community.

She comes in Featured Shorts just after break-in Lottie Pratchett takes on Hatchet at the Los Angeles LGBTQ Center and also appeared in Nimrod at the NOTA Theater. Ms. Vangsness is perhaps best known for her role as Penelope Garcia in the long-running hit drama. Criminal Minds on Paramount+.

She also starred in a film noir parody. Kill me, fatally and appeared in a feminist time travel musical. Cleo, Theo and Wu at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019.

Selectedorts has been produced by Symphony Space in New York since 1985.

Featured Shorts was conceived with a simple idea: take the great stories of famous and emerging writers and stage them with incredible stage and film actors.

Each features stories that explore a vibrant central theme, a guest author’s favorite works, or a special collaboration. Featured Shorts The event is a unique night of literature in performance.

Each year, Cache Valley Arts Center brings top national and international talent to the Ellen Eccles Theater as part of its CacheARTS season.
