As the days get a little cooler, the chic among us is wasting no time transforming our fall hair. Sleeves become longer and hair gets shorter. Always in trend Selena Gomez was the latest star to embrace the buzz cut, debuting a long bob at Rare Beauty’s inaugural Rare Impact Fund charity event on Wednesday, October 4. In true superstar fashion, she showed off the cut for the first time in several outfits, all of which were posted on her Instagram. Story.

In two mirror selfies posted in quick succession, Gomez wore her new shoulder-length bob straightened out in the middle, swapping her silver sequin dress for a black top and jeans from one image to the next. In both photos, her hair looked fresh from the salon, smooth and sharp, with no split ends.
In a separate selfie post shared by model and Selena’s best friend Connar Franklin Carpenter, the “Single Coming Soon” singer could be seen in yet another outfit: an S-purple orchid-shaped top. Chandelier earrings and a matching shade of warm-toned eyeshadow (almost certainly created using Rare Beauty products) completed the image.

“One thing about us… we’ll be cutting our hair at the same time,” Franklin wrote on her Instagram Story along with a kissing emoji. While Gomez’s hair was kept straight, Franklin’s was combed up at the ends and parted deep on the sides.
Although the best friends seemed to know what they were doing in advance, Gomez’s version came as a surprise to fans. The new look materialized just days after Only murders in the building the actress and her signature long locks showed off newly renovated Rare Beauty office on Instagram and took Paris Fashion Week by storm.
Despite this, there is no doubt that Selena can pull off any look or length. She said it best herself: She is so rare.
