After a couple of years away from acting, Selena Gomez is back with the Tuesday premiere of “Only Murders in the Building,” the new Hulu production starring alongside veterans Steve Martin and Martin Short.
The three actors will give life to some very peculiar characters that will provoke laughter with this crime comedy. Satire, parody and stealth are some of the ingredients of this production.
Behind “Only Murders in the Building” is the creative mind of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman and John Hoffman. They go after three strangers: “Mabel Mora” (Selena Gomez), “Oliver Putman” (Martin Short) and “Charles Hayden-Savage” (Steve Martin).
There is a common obsession in the latter group: real crimes. So for some reason, the protagonists end up wrapped in one.
In Arconia, an exclusive building on New York’s Upper West Side, a horrifying death occurs. After the fact, the trio begins to suspect that it is a murder. So they begin to use their “knowledge” about the true crime to discover the truth.
The starring trio realize they are in danger knowing that a murderer could be living among them. Still terrified by the discovery, they scramble to decipher the growing clues before it’s too late.
“Only Murders in the Building” consists of 10 chapters that will premiere on Hulu, Star + and Disney + on August 31.
