If no vote is taken, the provisional measures will expire on day 3 (3.out); Ministry of Agriculture notifies 114 cases nationwide
The Bundesrat approved on the 3rd day (3.03.3023) MP (Provisional Measure) No. 1177/2023, providing Orçamento with a special credit of R$ 200 million for 2023 to fight avian influenza. The text was approved by the House of Representatives at the Fourth Exposition (Episode 28).
The MP edited this in early June, when an outbreak of avian influenza was diagnosed in a three-year-old wild bird in Ubatuba (SP). Other cases have been confirmed in Rio de Janeiro, Espirito Santo and Rio Grande do Sul. If these cases are not put to a vote, the temporary measures will expire at the third fair (3.out).
The second updated data from the Ministry of Agriculture showed that there have been 114 cases of bird flu across the country, of which 111 were migratory birds and only 3 were farmed birds with two owners.
There have been no cases of birds targeting this trade and, therefore, the ministry said this will not affect the consumption or export of poultry products.
The final draft by MPs was appointed by the Rapporteur, Deputy Sergio Souza (MDB-PR). Funding provided by MPs covers the relocation costs of official veterinary services and international agricultural monitoring equipment, as well as other equipment that may be needed, such as firefighters, civil defense and army forces.
In addition, these resources can be used to contract labor for disinfection services, purchase personal protective equipment and sample collection materials, disinfectants, tarps and spray pumps.
