Whereas on September 9, 2023, Coco Gauff won her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open;
WHEREAS, Coco Goff was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 13, 2004, and grew up in Delray Beach, Florida, where she still resides;
However, while Coco Gauff was still living in Atlanta, he started playing tennis at age 6;
WHEREAS, On June 9, 2018, Coco Gauff won the Roland-Garros Women’s Singles Championship;
WHEREAS, on March 19, 2019, Coco Gauff made her Women’s Tennis Association (referred to in the foreword as “WTA”) Tour debut at the Miami Open;
On July 1, 2019, Coco Gauff, who was only 15 years old, shocked the tennis world by defeating Venus Williams at the Wimbledon Championships;
WHEREAS, On October 13, 2019, Coco Gauff won her first WTA singles title at the Women’s Tournament in Linz, Upper Austria;
WHEREAS, Coco Gauff’s victory at the U.S. Open on September 9, 2023 made her the youngest person to win the U.S. Open since Serena Williams won it in 1999 Grand Slam Americans;
Whereas, on September 11, 2023, Coco Gauff rose to No. 3 in the WTA world rankings;
and WHEREAS, on September 11, 2023, Coco Gauff became the number one doubles player in the world alongside her doubles partner, fellow American Jessica Pegula;
