Serena Williams’ daughter looks like a pro on tennis court

Is Wimbledon ready for Olympia Ohanian? The 5-year-old daughter of Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian looks to be training to be a champion.

In new photos of Olympia playing tennis, it sure looks like she’s using her mom’s backhand. Proud mom Williams shared the photo on her daughter’s Instagram page, @olympiaohanian (which, of course, is not managed by the preschooler herself).

Doesn’t Olympia’s pose look professional? We love this title: “Daddy Was My Caddy” – it shows that tennis is a family affair.

Williams has previously shared videos and pictures of Olympia playing tennis. In a TikTok post from last year, the tennis pro used the #MiniMe hashtag, Olympia’s shot was off — but she looked comfortable on the court:

Playing tennis might be a good way to keep Olympia busy so little sister Adira can take a nap. On August 22, Williams and her husband announced the birth of their second child, Adira River.

But there seems to be no need to worry that Olympia might be upset about no longer being an only child. In a touching video Williams recently shared on YouTube, you can see Olympia’s pure joy when she found out her mom was pregnant.

When asked in the past if she hopes her daughters will follow in her footsteps, Williams admitted she wants them to enjoy the sport. In an interview with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell in March, the retired tennis star admitted that she was a little frustrated that Olympia doesn’t currently enjoy playing tennis, despite her knack for doing so.

“It’s a little disappointing to me, but she’s actually really good at it, so we’re trying to figure out how to let her play a little bit,” Williams said in the interview. “Maybe I can push her to play tennis by putting other kids in group lessons, and I think that’s what I’m going to do.”

Luckily, Olympia isn’t upset that her mom is no longer competing in the ring. Williams, 42, said her daughter was happy her mother was less busy and tried to monopolize her free time.

“She wanted to make sure I am Realizing that I should have time, I needed to spend more time with her,” Williams told People.

Of course, some of Williams’ time may now be taken up by her newborn. If Olympia has extra time, though, she can always work on her backhand.
