Williams, 42, revealed to People that she and Olympia started practicing on the court when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. She explained, “Honestly, we started this because it was a socially safe sport, and when COVID happened, we were like, ‘We’re just stuck at home with a three-year-old, what should we do? what to do?'”
Since mother and daughter began sharing courts, the two have spent a lot of time honing Olympia’s tennis skills.

Williams revealed that while the pair wore matching outfits on the court Face to face with Norah O’Donnell Olympia “actually doesn’t like playing tennis that much.”
“It was a little disappointing to me, but she was actually really good at it,” she shared with O’Donnell. “So we’re trying to figure out how to get her to play a little bit.” The 23-time Grand Slam champion added, “Maybe I can push her into tennis by putting other kids in group lessons, and I think that’s what I’m going to do. “

In 2021, the tennis star and her husband, Ohanian, signed up their then-4-year-old daughter for their own tennis lessons, and the tennis star later pushed her daughter to join her on the court.
Williams documented Olympia’s first class on her Instagram Story, noting to her fans and followers that the coach “had no idea” that Olympia was Williams’ daughter. “Don’t even start with me, because I didn’t give her tennis lessons, I signed her up as a person,” she explained.
“I’m not a pushy mom, but I know how much I love tricks and I wanted to make sure she was good at teaching Olympia some tricks,” she added.

While the couple’s eldest daughter has been spotted on the court in the past few years, Williams noted how the piano captured her daughter’s attention.

The couple first announced Adira’s arrival on TikTok, and then Ohanian shared a photo of their two daughters on Instagram.
Ohanian wrote in the caption: “I’m so grateful to say that our house is filled with love: a happy and healthy newborn girl and a happy and healthy mom, and you have now given me another unparalleled gift – you GMOAT.”
