Hollywood’s A-list gathered at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Monday night to celebrate the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards, complete with a number of exciting fashion shows! We couldn’t help but notice a dress worn by former tennis champ Serena Williams, who rocked her new look.
The 42-year-old athlete arrived wearing a floor-length black sequin gown by Thom Browne. The dress featured a plunging sweetheart neckline and square straps, with a bodice that cascaded into a pleated mermaid skirt and a long train that was also covered in black sequins.
The drama didn’t stop there. The dress features extremely oversized sleeve details that look as if they have been inflated and covered in black organza areas. The sleeves feature drop pearl detailing and tighten at the wrist.
Serena added more sparkle to her look. She also added a striking diamond necklace in the shape of a flower or coral that you could imagine being under the sea. The mother-of-two also tied the pearls on her eye-catching sleeves with accessories like pearls and silver earrings – a low-key look in comparison.
To create a vibrant look, the 23-time Grand Slam champion kept her hair and makeup simple. Her lashes highlighted the outer corners of her eyes for an ethereal look, and she wore a simple matte cool-toned nude lip. Her hair was tied into a simple bun, with a few strands left loose to frame her face.
Serena wasn’t the only one making fashion choices at last night’s event. The former tennis star posed alongside Kim Kardashian, 43, who also got the all-black memo. The reality star stunned in an all-black Chrome Hearts halterneck leather dress.
The gown was covered in the brand’s signature cross design and had fringes at the bottom of the skirt. She completed the look with a ’90s Pamela Anderson updo and black stiletto nails.
Demi Moore also wowed at the event in a look that also showcased the power of glitter.this ghost

The Devil Wears Prada The 40-year-old star wore a blood red floor-length sheer gown. There was definitely a mermaid fit vibe in the air, as the actress wore a dress that had a similar silhouette to Serena’s, except it had a gauzy ruffle at the bottom.
Anne’s dress also featured a lace lining and dramatic poppies, both of which were attached to the gown and embedded with beads and diamonds.
When not attending prestigious events like the CFDA Awards, Serena Williams spends time raising her two daughters, six-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. and three-month-old Adira River Ohanian, the daughter she shares with husband and internet entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian.
The tennis champ revealed the stunning nursery she built ahead of baby Adira’s birth in August. Serena opted for a regal design, showing off her daughter’s crib with a crown perched on top. The space also features a luxurious burgundy wardrobe and spacious walk-in closet.
