The outspoken Shaqir is no stranger to Kobe Bryant inspiration, having shared a photo on his Instagram page of the late Los Angeles Lakers legend appearing on the TV show “Moesha.”

The $812,000 zero-value sophomore is averaging 2.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists for Texas Southern (5-11, 3-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference).

Shakir O’Neal NIL Empire

Shaqir O’Neal’s NIL valuation is $812,000, ranking him 6th among college basketball players and 33rd on the NIL 100 list.

In an interview with Forbes, he revealed his mentality towards making zero deals in the modern era.

“My mom and dad were both innovators and entrepreneurs,” O’Neill said. “They emphasized the importance of making the right business decisions at the right time. We’re in a new era in sports where college athletes can get paid endorsements earlier, so I need to think about how to do that at this young age.”

Last year, he teamed up with his older brother, Shareef O’Neal, who plays for the G League Ignite. The two collaborated on the BoohooMAN collection, which blends fashion with grunge to create an authentic collection.

Shane Chin, head designer of the O’Neal collection, explains the motivation behind the stylish look.

“This year, the team wanted to focus on the U.S. market and what’s trending there, but we also wanted to make sure it still fit the brothers’ personal aesthetic,” Chin said. “We introduced key new shapes, such as boxy and long silhouettes, that can be layered for transitional looks.

“We are delighted to be working with the O’Neill brothers and believe this range is a versatile range that will meet the needs of boohooMAN customers.”

O’Neal’s most recent NIL deal is a collaboration with AZVA Studios, in which he models a Rest Stop hoodie as another feather in his cap.
