During the presentation of the line-up, it was also revealed that Sam Levinson’s new HBO series “The Idol”, which stars The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, will participate in the event out of competition.

The festival will open with the screening of «Jeanne du Barry» by Maïwenn, starring Johnny Depp. Other out-of-competition films include Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate and Pedro Almodóvar’s Strange Way of Life with Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal.

The 76th Cannes Film Festival will take place from 16 to 27 May 2023.
