Sian Ducrot learned from Ed Sheeran how to ‘relax’

SAYAN Ducrot has revealed how Ed Sheeran’s advice helped him cope with his rise to fame.

The singer-songwriter’s album The Passage West topped the charts in Ireland and the UK – two tracks were written by Bandon songwriter Bill Maybury – and now Ducrot looks set to take the next step to global fame with a US tour next week. .

Facing such a stellar rise can be a challenge for some, but Sian says some of Ed’s advice has helped him along the way.

“The biggest thing I learned from him was his ability to be so calm,” Sian told Virginradio.co.uk at the UK National Television Awards.

“He can do anything right up until the moment he gets on stage.”

Sian supported Ed Sheeran on his latest tour and said: “We were hanging out about two minutes before he came on stage and I’ve never experienced (anything) like that before.” Something that I definitely tried to adapt immediately was being able to be anywhere, do anything, and, you know, not stress out too much before going on stage.”

“A lot of people have rituals and stuff, and at the end of the day, I feel like rituals just make you stressed. If you don’t do them, you say, ‘I haven’t done my rituals,'” he added.

Chian’s world tour begins in the US, and while it may seem like he’s “made it,” he’s grounded enough to know he still has a lot to learn. “I’m still learning, I’m still thinking about how I’m going to train, what I’m going to eat and just trying to relax as much as possible.”

“(I’m) preparing mentally… But I’m having a lot of fun on tour anyway, so I’m just thinking about how to make it as fun as possible.”

Ducrot performed at the National Television Awards at London’s O2 and was also a hit at the Electric Picnic in Stradbally earlier this month.
