Skip Bayless has been critical of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James for more than a decade. James is arguably considered the best player of all time, but Bayless will never receive such praise, and Bayless was quick to point out his shortcomings and disparaging comparisons to Michael Jordan.
Bayless often argued that James lacked the closed gene; Claim submitted “Undisputed” airs again Thursday on FS1.
“(LeBron James) is still a top-five scorer in basketball. But when it comes to clutch moments, closing moments, he doesn’t have the closest genes… They’re airballs, they’re ding-dongs, they’re It’s Le Brix, they’re still far away.”

“He’s still a top-five scorer in basketball,” Bayless said. “But when it comes to crunch time, shutout moments, he doesn’t have the closest DNA in him… They’re air balls, they’re ding-dongs, they’re LeBrick, they’re not even close.”
James is widely regarded as the top scorer in basketball. Last season, he averaged 28.9 points on 50.0% shooting and passed Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader.
Will this record be broken anytime soon? But Bayless was quick to point out James’ shortcomings while ignoring some key facts.
James has the most buzzer-beaters in the playoffs (five), more than Jordan (three).I have you also have Most game-tying or game-winning shots in the final second of the playoffs.
James is still going strong as an NBA player. His per-game numbers with the Lakers were better than he was in his prime with the Miami Heat.
Bayless would always point out James’ problems rather than celebrate his greatness.
