Small Things Like These, produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity, is based on the novel of the same name by Claire Keegan. So let’s find out the first details of the project.
Artists Equity – production house of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck – found his next project. After Air – in Italian cinemas starting April 6 – and Unstoppable – biopic with Jennifer Lopez soon to be released – Damon and Affleck will take care of the production of Small Things Like Thesedrama that boasts the participation of Cillian Murphyfresh from the extraordinary success of the series Peaky Blinders.
Small Things Like These – The first details of the drama with Cillian Murphy
Cillian Murphy is also involved in the project as a producer e will share the set with Ciarán Hinds – confirmed in these hours also among the protagonists of the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – and Emily Watson. Small Things Like These is taken from novel of the same name by Claire Keegan – published in Italy with the title Little things out of nowhere– , former author of foster – used by Colm Bairead as the subject for his feature film, The Quiet Girl, the first Irish project to compete for the Oscars for best international film. The story takes place in 1985 in a small town in Irelandduring weeks before Christmas. Bill Furlong, a devoted family man and coal merchant, is having the best time for his business. During a delivery to the local convent, however, Bill will make a discovery that will force him to confront both his own past and buried local secrets, kept by a citizenship conniving and controlled by the Church. Small Things Like These will be directed by Tim Mielants – already behind the camera of some episodes of TV series, including Peaky Blinders -, while the screenplay will be edited by Enda Walsh – well-known Irish playwright, former author of Hunger by Steve McQueen. Regarding his involvement in the project, Cillian Murphy he then declared that he felt honored to be able to bring Claire Keegan’s extraordinary novel to the screen, with the help of two artists of the caliber of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck:

Murphywhich has been missing from the big screen since 2020 – its last appearance was in horror A Quiet Place II – is then expected in Oppenheimerbiopic from the all-star cast, in which he will star alongside Matt Damon – will be in cinemas from 20 July.
