SMDIF offers advice on preventing diseases during the winter cold

  • Common cold, sinusitis, influenza, COVID 19, and respiratory syncytial virus are the most common illnesses plaguing citizens.

In this winter season of cold and low temperatures, the Municipal DIF System of Puebla (SMIDF) calls on citizens not to let down their guard and to follow the advice of the experts of the “Médico Contigo” to prevent diseases.

First of all, it is recommended not to self-medicate in case of symptoms or respiratory infection and to avoid drastic changes in temperature. In addition to wearing a mask, it is recommended to wear at least three layers of clothing to keep warm.

It is important to stay hydrated, consume vitamin C, practice good hygiene, and get checked frequently or seek medical attention if you experience any symptoms, such as headaches, nasal congestion, fever, eye irritation, coughing, or body cramps.

Common cold, sinusitis, influenza, COVID 19, and respiratory syncytial virus are the most common illnesses plaguing citizens.

SMDIF therefore invites citizens in need to come to the Integrated Medical Center (UMI) located at San Baltazar Campeche Avenida Cue Merlo 201, where they will receive professional medical care.

Puebla families also have the “Médico Contigo”, which provides family counseling and free medicines to vulnerable groups; membership in this program can be completed through the number 22 22 14 00 00, extension 212 or the WhatsApp number 22 17 02 11 63.
