Nintendo has officially announced that the Online Lounge feature for Splatoon 2 will end on July 29th. This decision will not affect the ability to participate in multiplayer and local matches in any way.
The Online Lounge is one of the features of the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app. It allows Splatoon 2 users to invite each other to battle by exchanging links. Now this can only be done from the game itself.
“However, using the application, it will still be possible to communicate with friends in a voice chat,” the company said in a statement. According to her, no other changes in the program’s functionality are foreseen yet.
It’s worth noting that the Online Lounge was used exclusively in Splatoon 2.
Splatoon 2 is a striking third-person shooter that only requires paint to shoot. During the February presentation of Nintendo Direct, a new part of the franchise was announced – Splatoon 3. The release of the game is scheduled for 2022.
