SSM confirms no human cases

Both facilities have measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus and, given that the outbreak occurred in a remote and inaccessible area, it does not pose an animal health risk.

Although the virus poses no threat to human health, since the virus is unique to birds, SSM personnel checked the area for possible cases of human transmission.

Workers and personnel who may have come into contact with the blood, feces and secretions of sick birds, as well as surfaces and objects contaminated with the virus, were monitored.

SSM personnel remain vigilant with medical units, but given that the case was registered on March 11, the incubation period is 5 days, and the risk of infection is zero, there is no risk in consuming chicken and eggs.
