SSM vaccinates newborns in 364 health centers

Provide immunity before they are exposed to potentially fatal diseases

Morelia, Michoacan, September 18, 2023. – The Michoacán State Department of Health (SSM) continues its newborn vaccination campaign in 364 health centers offering hepatitis B and tuberculosis biologics.

These vaccines should be given within the first month of life because they provide immunity before minors are exposed to potentially fatal diseases.

The newborn vaccines are Bacillus Calmette-Guerin, which protects against tuberculosis and hepatitis B; Triple Virus, which protects children under one year against measles, rubella, and mumps; and Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus (DPT) in children under five.

You can also require other biological products to fill in the basic vaccination form marked on the national health card, such as hexavalent vaccine, rotavirus vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine, etc., which are suitable for children under five years old.

Parents must present the card at the vaccination area.

These vaccines are also available at ISSSTE Clinics and IMSS Family Medicine Centers.
