Stephen A. Smith says Scottie Pippen will ’embarrass himself’ as he once again takes aim at Michael Jordan, Hall of Famer on tour to criticize ‘The Last Dance’: ‘This is a Huge mistake”

Basketball Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen is slamming The Last Dance documentary series around the world, and ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith isn’t impressed.

Pippen traveled to Australia with former Chicago teammates Horace Grant and Luke Longley to share their thoughts on the story of the ’90s Bulls dynasty in a lecture series called the “No Bull” tour.

Six-time NBA champion Pippen publicly dismissed many of the points raised by Michael Jordan in his recollections of the Bulls’ decade. But Smith believes that Pippen will end up with a face full of eggs.

“Scottie Pippen is going to embarrass himself,” Smith said on Friday’s “First Take.”

“Everyone knows he’s not Michael Jordan, and he never was. The fact is, no matter what he’s offended by, the facts are the facts.

“You saw what he did, he didn’t play because Phil Jackson didn’t call his number. You know he’s a six-time champion and Michael Jordan called him his greatest teammate of all time.

“But he did it because he resisted what was portrayed in the docuseries. It was a huge mistake.

Former NBA center Kendrick Perkins disputed Smith’s assessment of the situation.

“There are three sides to every story. There’s Jordan’s side, there’s Pippen and his teammates’ side, and then there’s the truth. They can tell their side of the story,” Perkins explained.

“The purpose of ‘The Last Dance’ was to make Jordan look better. That’s why all of these situations that happen — like Jerry Krause’s wife booing him at the United Center were unacceptable — are Because of “The Last Dance.”

“Let them tell their side of the story because we weren’t there.”
