The defeat could have been prevented, but not on this scale and in this way: South Africa does what it wants against Wales, who hold out for half an hour and then collapse 52-16 sensationally at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. The Springboks find Kolisi in top form (who only plays once, as a precaution) and Kolbe in the 2019 World Cup version, destroy the Welsh with a choke defense and actually never let the Gatland team play. Also noteworthy is the lift from Canan Moodie, the author of the performance at the highest level.

Chronicle of Wales and South Africa

It takes South Africa less than 4 minutes to unlock a match. The action starts with a ball played past the excellent Canan Moody who puts him on his front foot, Hendrixse maneuvers from one side of the field to the other, then Sia Kolisi attacks the line from 5 meters and superbly unloads you need Marx for the first half. Wales responded with a good attack by Johnny Williams, who broke two tackles and forced the Springboks to force: a free kick. Kostelov scores the first points for Galtand’s team, 3-5, but Libbock fails to convert.

If the action of the goal is excluded, then the first 15 minutes are all played on half of the springboxes, which contain the kicks of the Gatland team without any problems. The first row of South Africans then raised their voices, dominating two fights in a row, but Libbock was again off the field and missed an easy shot. On the other hand, Kostelov made no mistake and scored points for overtaking in the 20th minute.

The second explosion of South Africa occurs at the 22nd minute. It was started by the incredible RG Snyman who turned into a Fijian winger, found a break, faked a pass and then served Hendrix with one hand and eyes closed. The action continued with Willy le Roux widening on Moody, a wing scorching Dyer on a change of direction and scoring a goal. Libbock unlocks and also introduces transformation at 6-12. However, the indiscipline still betrays Team Ninaber who fouls on the next kickoff and gives Wales 3 more points which come back thanks to a very accurate Costelow.

South Africa thrives on these constant accelerations and the third down comes down to a third down: the magnificent Kolisi breaks out from under the maul and receives a 15m handball, then again Le Roux reinvents the Moody corner kick that Rio Dier anticipated. however, he throws the ball directly over the dead ball line in an attempt to avoid hitting the target. Yellow and penalty and South Africa goes +10. Dyer disagrees as he believes Moody touched the ball forward first, but this remains the most difficult decision for Wales.

Gatland’s team of 14 was completely skidded. Moody recovers a large balloon and services Hendrix, who begins the action on the high seas. De Allende tries to kick Kolbe, the South African is waiting for Mason Grady, who, however, tries to make a crazy overwork and passes the ball to Kriel, who thanks and scores. The first half ends 24-9 for Springboks.

Early in the second half, Wales missed a throw-in 5 meters from the goal line, then Gatland’s team had another great moment in the 51st minute. Rio Dier’s left flank break, Kostelov stopped a few yards from the goal line, Hardy trying to speed up the action, but completely misses the pass intercepted by Peter-Stef Du Toit. The South African flanker serves Kriel at the right pace, and the center can fly right between the posts.

Nienaber inserts a “sapper squad” and delivers the final blow to the game. The strikers continue to dominate, Monster dominates the lineout and Vermeulin comes very close to the goal line. To complete the job, this is taken care of by Du Toit, who scores a goal with a score of 9-38. In the 60th minute, another interception occurs, this time Kanan Moody, who intercepts the ball with disarming ease on a slow pass from Johnny Williams and scores 9-45.

South Africa does not stop, instead Wales no longer has the strength – physical and above all mental – to hold on. Ninaber’s team continues to attack and in the 69th minute Willemse scores again, while Teddy Williams is booked for the previous foul. In the 70th minute, Willemse also turned yellow before the face-to-face meeting with Dier, but they were both forced to leave permanently due to a concussion. With a reaction of pride, Wales managed to punch Sam Parry after a good move by Tomos Williams. It ends 16-52, with Wales coming out with broken bones after the third Test, while South Africa regain confidence in a Twickenham ‘dress rehearsal’ against the All Blacks.
