Brad Pitt, 57, played JD in the iconic film “Thelma and Louise”, a tramp who gets entangled with Thelma -Geena Davis- while she and her best friend Louise –Susan Sarandon– flee from the police after Louise shoots and kills a man.
about that Susan Sarandon the 74-year-old told Us Weekly exclusively: “I think it’s great, I was clear about it when I saw the movie, certainly when we worked together on the convertible scene. Although I didn’t have the intimacy that Geena had.”
Sarandon he added: “It was clear he was fun, relaxed and inventive. But when I saw the movie, there was a lot more that he brought into the movie with his character that wasn’t really in the script. That’s when I looked and thought this guy was a character actor. He’s acting. When you’re so handsome, you don’t really have to do much. He really played a character. He didn’t try to make do with his good looks.”
Susan he paid the same compliment to Johnny Depp, who has played a multitude of eccentric characters such as the lead role in “Edward Scissorhands” or Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise and even Willy Wonka in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
That’s why the first actress said: “I think Johnny Depp he’s delved a lot into the characters, maybe too much. It’s one that could have been fixed with appearance. And I really admire people who don’t, because as a character actor, you’ll work a lot longer and you’ll have a more interesting work tool than just being the handsome guy, you know? So he’s done an amazing job, he’s been very brave with his choices and he’s done very committed characters. And I think it’s great. I really love him.”
Regarding his career Susan Sarandon he said: “There were roles where I was rejected and which I wish I could have done. But maybe there were some that didn’t turn out as good as I thought they could have.”
