Sydney Sweeney wishes her co-star a happy birthday!
Euphoria The 26-year-old actress shared a sweet message for Glen Powell, who plays her on-screen love interest in the upcoming rom-com. Anyone but you — The actor’s 35th birthday is on Saturday.
“Happy birthday to my fellow camp counselor, adventurer extraordinaire and goofball,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Along with the message, Sweeney shared a smiling selfie of the duo—presumably taken on the set of the soon-to-be-released film—in which the actors are wearing wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses and matching jackets.
The pair showed off their matching “goofball” energy—and on-screen chemistry—at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas while unveiling the first look at Anyone but you.
“We love seeing ourselves on the big screen,” Powell joked at the convention, prompting Sweeney to respond, “Oh please, Top Gun,” a reference to his role in the 2022 blockbuster. Top Shot: Maverick.
“I love it when she calls me that,” he joked, telling viewers that Sweeney’s character Bee is “a total nightmare.”
After she responded by calling his character, Ben, a “jerk,” Powell continued to tease the film’s plot: “And what better way to imagine a nightmare and —— than on the other side of the world, in the most romantic environment that you can imagine?

After rumors of an off-screen romance between Powell and Sweeney, who is engaged to fiancé Jonathan Davino, began swirling while the co-stars were filming in Australia, White Lotus the star turned them off, saying Diversity that she and Powell are not bothered by gossip.
In an interview with The Power of Young Hollywood magazine, Sweeney spoke openly about these rumors. “It’s a rom-com,” she told the publication. “This is what people want!”
“Glen and I don’t really care about it,” she continued. “We have so much fun together and we have a lot of respect for each other.”
“We keep saying, ‘This is really funny,'” she said of the rumors. “They want it. It’s fun to give it to them.”
New trailer for Anyone but you provides a glimpse into the seemingly enemies-to-lovers romance between Bea and Ben, who seem “to be the perfect couple, but after a stunning first date, something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction into an icy one – until they find themselves unexpectedly drawn in” together at a wedding in Australia,” according to the synopsis.
In the teaser, Sweeney and Powell act out the classic rom-com trope of pretending to be a couple, with Sweeney’s character foreshadowing, “Who knows what might happen?”
In May, in a conversation with PEOPLE, the actress confirmed that she starred in The film, along with “adventurer extraordinaire” Powell, was as fun as the behind-the-scenes photos of the duo.
“It was just laughing 24/7,” she said. “Literally we were just having a great time every day. It was really a very interesting experience.”
She added: “I really enjoyed it… I’m really excited for it to come out.”
