Tasha K is still on the hook for her debt to Cardi B

Megan Cuniff, known on Black Twitter as Meg Thee Reporter, shares the latest on Tasha K’s significant debt to Cardi B.

In the X thread, Cuniff detailed that the blogger still owes $4 million to the “Bongos” artist. The judge ruled that declaring bankruptcy does not exempt the video blogger from writing checks. In June, Tasha K. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida, seeking 22 quarterly payments of $220,000, but was unsuccessful for each complex.

“Several people have asked me about the bankruptcy judge’s ruling on YouTuber Tasha K’s $4 million judgment for defaming rapper Cardi B,” Caniff shared, posting screenshots of the official document. “Here. This confirms that Tasha can’t pay off her debt to Cardi through bankruptcy. She’s on the hook for this and will stay on the hook.”

The journalist explained the nuances of the case in his posts, stating that the current dispute amounts to more than $500,000 in punitive damages against Tasha K. Kebe Studios. Although it has not been officially accepted, according to Cardi’s team, the defendant is not fighting the amount.

As for why the damage was so staggering, Caniff explained that the initial lawsuit filed by the rapper’s lawyers revealed that the blogger was “obsessed” with disparaging Cardi’s character through her platform.

However, according to a legal observer, the question in the case is more whether the jury will agree that the large sum fits the crime.

Caniff, who felt the lawsuit was a “blow” for the Bronx native, shared that Tasha K’s denial of serious allegations about her gossip led to her current predicament as she owes Cardi millions. Now in a legal dispute, Tasha K. and her alarming headlines can no longer avail of the typical last line of defense to get out of debt.

As for the unauthorized $500,000 payout from the content creator’s business, a pre-trial conference is scheduled for January 9 at which Tasha K. will find out whether she owes the star even more.
