Basic lesson:

(verse 1)
i’m so glad you took the time to see me
How’s life? Tell me, how is your family?
i haven’t seen them for a while
you’re better, busier than ever
We talk about small things, work and the weather
your security is on alert and i know why

(pre Chorus)
because the last time you saw me
it’s still burned in the back of your mind
you gave me roses and i left them there to die

(chorus)
so, it’s me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you saying, “I’m sorry about that night”
and i go back to december all the time
It goes to show that freedom is nothing more than missing you
i wish i realized what i had when you were mine
i go back in december, flip and fix it
i go back to december all the time

(Verse 2)
I can’t sleep these days
stay awake play back
when your birthday passed and i didn’t call
Then I think of summer, all the beautiful times
i saw you laughing from the passenger side
and in the fall i realized i love you

(pre Chorus)
And then came the cold, dark days
when fear took over my mind
you gave me all your love and i only said goodbye to you

(chorus)
so, it’s me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you, saying, “I’m sorry about that night”
and i go back to december all the time
It goes to show that freedom is nothing more than missing you
i wish i realized what i had when you were mine
I go back in December, turn around and change my mind
i go back to december all the time

(Bridge)
i miss your dusky skin, your sweet smile
very good for me very perfect
And how you held me in your arms that September night
the first time you saw me cry
maybe it’s wishful thinking
maybe i’m just dreaming
But if we love again, I swear I’ll love you right
I’d go back in time and change it, but I can’t
So, if the chain’s on your door, I understand

(chorus)
but it’s me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you, saying, “I’m sorry about that night”
and i go back in december
It goes to show that freedom is nothing more than missing you
i wish i realized what i had when you were mine
i go back in december, flip and fix it
I go back in December, turn around and change my mind
i go back to december all the time
(outro)
all the time

back to December (Taylor’s version) – Translation:

i’m so glad you could take the time to see me
How are you? Tell me, how is your family?
Haven’t seen them for a long time.
you’re okay, busier than ever
We didn’t talk about anything, work and time
Your defenses are strong and I know why.

because the last time you saw me
it’s still burning in the back of your mind
you gave me roses and i left them to die

That’s how I try to swallow my pride,
standing in front of you
Telling you I’m so sorry for that night,
And I always go back in December.
I learned that freedom means nothing more than missing you
I wish you knew what I had when you were mine,
I would like to come back in December, go back and do everything right.
I always go back in December.

i haven’t slept these days
I’m awake, wondering when I’m gone
Until your birthday passed and I didn’t call you.
And I think of summer and good times
I saw you laughing from the passenger seat,
In the fall I realized that I love you.

cold came again, dark days came
Fear has settled in my heart,
you gave me all your love,
And what I gave you was just goodbye.

So this is how I try to swallow my pride,
standing in front of you
Telling you I’m so sorry for that night,
And I always go back in December.
I learned that freedom means nothing more than missing you
I wish you knew what I had when you were mine,
I would like to come back in December, go back and do everything right.
I always go back in December.

I miss your dusky skin, your sweet smile,
Very good, very good for me.
And how you held me in your arms that September night,
the first time you saw me cry
maybe it’s just a bold desire
maybe just a silly dream,
But if we ever had to love each other again, I swear I’ll make it right.

I want to go back in time and change things, but I can’t.
So if you put a chain on your door, I understand.

So this is how I try to swallow my pride,
standing in front of you
Telling you I’m so sorry for that night,
And I always go back in December.
I learned that freedom means nothing more than missing you
I wish you knew what I had when you were mine,
I would like to come back in December, go back and do everything right.
I always go back in December.
all time.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version):

The singer has unveiled the tracklist and back cover of the disc on his social channels:

I’m so excited to show you the Speak Now back cover (my version), which features songs from Walt and a collaboration with @paramore and @falloutboy’s Hayley Williams. Since songwriting was so important to Speak Now, I decided to reach out to the artists who had most influenced me as a songwriter at the time and asked them to sing at the Disco.

They have been really great and generous in agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I made this record when I was 32 (and still growing up) (And I was still growing up, song quote InnocentEd.) And I can’t wait to reveal it to you July 7,

Many Thought Taylor Swift Wouldn’t Add a Collaboration to Keep It Up Speak now (TV) was written entirely by her alone, but the singer announced two features on the album, the band fall out Boy for unreleased songs electric touch And Hayley Williams for paramour crumbling castle,

Both artists are very recognizable faces of early 2000s punk-rock, and their sound undoubtedly fits right in with most of Taylor’s rock records.
