We’ve all gone to the cinema to see a movie and then, perhaps in the middle of the screening, we realize that we made the wrong choice and chose an extremely bad movie or just not in our comfort zone. There are two things at this point: stay until the end to avoid wasting money on tickets, in the hope that some plot twist will fix the mediocre plot, or leave the theater. Apparently this happened too. Stephen King make this second, decisive decision and, according to his recent revelation, only once in a lifetime.
In 2022 the author Linwood Barclay posted a tweet explaining that the first movie that got him out of the theater was Jurassic World Dominion, a feature film of the same year starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Even King wanted to respond to the tweet by sharing his bad experience with another famous blockbuster:
“As an adult, there was only one film during which I turned down the screening: TRANSFORMERS”
At this point, the user replied: “All right, Mr. King. You are undoubtedly my favorite writer of all time. What Transformers movie did you leave theaters for? A 1986 cartoon or one of Michael Bay’s creations?
The author then confirmed that the feature film in question was the first of a franchise. Michael Bayso in 2007 there was a live action movie starring Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf.
Multiple responses following Stephen King’s tweet, with several users revealing abandoned movies while watching it to the author of ‘It’: from a cult godfather 3 to the first star Warsgoing through musical drama Moulin rouge. And you? Was there a feature film you saw at the cinema but couldn’t finish it? Let us know, as always, in the comments!
