Before Bailey was cast in Rob Marshall’s new film, her musical duo with her sister, Chloe x Halle, caught Beyoncé’s attention in 2013, thanks to a cover of “Pretty Hurts” that the two had posted on YouTube. The world-famous singer immediately contacted them to offer the two young girls a contract with her record label, Parkwood Entertainment.
Bailey recently revealed what Beyoncé told her after news of her starring role in The Little Mermaid: “She has always been very, very flattering and proud of me, and that means the world to me, she has been one of my biggest inspirations since I was 3 years old. She just told me to stand up for myself, not to give up and to believe in myself.”
The new and highly anticipated film by Halle Bailey, the live action remake of the 1989 Disney animated film of the same name based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen The Little Mermaid, will arrive in Italian cinemas on May 24, 2023, while in the United States the release is scheduled for May 26.
